A Few Things to Pack
Bring food, medications, a leash, waste bags, a favorite toy, and something familiar from home. A familiar blanket or bed helps your dog settle into a new place much faster.
Plan for Some Alone Time
Branson has plenty to do, but not every attraction is pet-friendly. If your dog will be staying behind, bring a crate if they're crate-trained and give them time to get comfortable in the property before leaving them alone.
Keep Your Pup Leashed
Even the best-behaved dog can get excited in a new environment. Keep your dog leashed outside the property and be especially careful around wildlife, other guests, and unfamiliar dogs.
Protect Those Paws
Ozark pavement and sidewalks can get hot during the summer. Walk your dog in the morning or evening when possible, and check the pavement before heading out.
Explore Branson Together
Don't assume your dog has to stay at the rental. Branson and the Ozarks have walking trails, outdoor patios, and other dog-friendly spots where your four-legged family member can join the fun.
Dog-Friendly Things to Do in Branson
North Beach Park — Right next to Branson Landing along Lake Taneycomo. A great spot for a leashed walk, with waterfront views, benches, and picnic areas.
Branson Landing — The outdoor areas are dog-friendly and make an easy place to walk your pup along Lake Taneycomo while you shop or explore downtown. Especially worth mentioning for Roark Creek guests, who can walk there from the property.
Stockstill Park — A 60-acre park along Roark Creek with walking paths, open green space, and the Elmo & Rosalea Marrs Memorial Dog Park. The fenced dog park has separate areas for large and small dogs. Day passes are $5 (1-day) or $10 (3-day), and vaccination records are required.
Table Rock Lakeshore Trail — An easy, scenic trail along Table Rock Lake with plenty of shade and lake views. One of the top outdoor picks for guests who want a longer walk with their dog.
Waterfall Hiking Trailhead — A short, more natural trail along a tributary of Roark Creek with rock formations, creek crossings, and a waterfall. Dogs are commonly brought on the trail, but it can get muddy and rough after rain.
Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area — The better choice for guests who want a real Ozarks hike rather than a walk around town. Multiple trails, wooded scenery, and great overlooks.
Dog-Friendly Places to Eat
There are quite a few patio options around Branson. Two worth highlighting: Turkey Creek Brewery in Hollister has a dog-friendly outdoor patio, and Danna's BBQ and Burger Shop in the Table Rock/Branson West area also has pet-friendly outdoor seating.
Other spots with outdoor seating where dogs are commonly welcome include Black Oak Grill, LandShark Bar & Grill, Billy Bob's Dairy Bar, Sugar Leaf Bakery Café & Espresso, Cold Stone Creamery, and Waxy O'Shea's. Patio policies can change, so call ahead to confirm before you go.
