New Year's Eve in Branson 2026: Shows, Fireworks & Where to Stay
David Slone • November 2, 2026
Quick answer: New Year's Eve 2026 falls on a Thursday, and Branson goes all out for it. Your main choices are a dinner show with a midnight countdown (Legends, the Showboat Branson Belle, Reza and the Clay-Goods Jambor-Eve all have one), a dressed-up party with fireworks at Chateau on the Lake, or a quiet night in with the Christmas lights still up. Silver Dollar City's An Old Time Christmas runs through January 2, 2027, and most New Year's Eve shows sell out, so book tickets and lodging early.
New Year's in Branson is different from New Year's in a big city. No packed street party, no $40 parking lot. You get a nice dinner, a good show, a midnight toast with the people you came with, and a short drive home. The Christmas season is still going, too. Ozark Mountain Christmas runs through January 7, 2027, so the lights are on all week. We put together the plans we would make ourselves, sorted by the kind of night you want.
New Year's Eve shows in Branson 2026
Most of the big theaters run a special New Year's Eve show with a countdown at midnight. These are listed for Thursday, December 31, 2026:
Legends in Concert New Year's Celebration: 9:30 p.m. at the Pepsi Legends Theater, with party favors and a midnight toast. Dining packages have been available in past years.
Showboat Branson Belle New Year's Eve cruise: main show at 9 p.m. with a three-course dinner and a grape juice toast on Table Rock Lake.
Reza New Year's Eve Spectacular: doors at 7 p.m. at Reza Live Theatre. It's a triple feature with Reza, Pierce Arrow and The Revollusionists, plus food, a live DJ and a midnight countdown.
The Clay-Goods Jambor-Eve: Clay Cooper's Country Express and The Haygoods together, with a buffet, cash bar, party favors and a balloon drop at midnight. Family friendly.
Hamners' All American New Year's Eve Celebration: alcohol-free and family friendly. Last year doors opened at 8 p.m. with a 9 p.m. show and a laser countdown. A $25 VIP add-on is offered.
Also listed: the Americana New Year's Eve Show and the Hughes Brothers New Year's Party.
Times and prices for most of these are not posted yet, and New Year's Eve shows are often the first dates to sell out. Check the theater's own site, buy early, and look for dinner packages if you don't want to hunt for a restaurant table that night.
Coming with a group? A late show is a lot easier when everyone sleeps under one roof afterward: a home that sleeps 30 with its own theater room, a home that sleeps 22 with game rooms, and a home near Thunder Ridge that sleeps 20 with a hot tub.
New Year's Eve parties and fireworks
If you want a party instead of a show, Branson's resorts throw the biggest ones.
Chateau on the Lake: the 2026 celebration opens at 7 p.m. and includes a six-course Chef's Table dinner, a buffet, fireworks and two drink tickets per person. For reference, the Great Hall party ran $170 per person two years ago, and the VIP dinner package was $299.
Big Cedar Lodge: last year's celebration had a party with live music, a champagne toast, a balloon drop and midnight fireworks, plus separate kids and teen parties. Big Cedar hasn't posted its 2026 plans yet, so watch bigcedar.com.
Other parties listed for 2026: the Red Carpet event at The Summit in downtown Branson, the Midnight Masquerade at the Branson Convention Center, a New Year's Eve party at Waxy O'Shea's on Branson Landing, and a late-night game night at Dice & Dine.
Want fireworks without a ticket? In past years, people have watched the Chateau on the Lake fireworks from the area around Table Rock State Park and nearby public lots. It's cold at midnight, so bring blankets and something warm to drink.
Family-friendly ways to ring in 2027
Plenty of families do New Year's Eve in Branson with kids who will never make it to midnight. A few ideas that worked well last year:
A "noon year" countdown: last year Rise Playpark ran a Noon Year's Kids Bash with morning and afternoon sessions, and 1984 Arcade ran its Rockin' Eve from 1 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with a balloon drop.
An early show: the Hamners' and the Clay-Goods shows are built for families, and many theaters ran their regular daytime shows on December 31 last year.
Christmas lights one more time: Silver Dollar City's An Old Time Christmas runs through January 2, 2027. Last year the park closed at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve, so a day at the park followed by a toast back at your rental works out well. Check 2026 hours on silverdollarcity.com. Our Silver Dollar City calendar has the details.
A first-day hike: Local parks and conservation areas host First Day Hikes on January 1. Last year the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area, just west of Branson, hosted one at 10 a.m.
The case for a night in
We will be honest: some of the best New Year's Eves we have seen in Branson happened in a living room. Order dinner or cook one, put the ball drop on the TV, and watch the kids fall asleep in a pile on the couch. Nobody has to drive, nobody has to find a parking spot at 12:30 a.m., and you wake up on January 1 with a lake view instead of a hotel hallway.

Homes made for a night in: Gran's Getaway, the cabin pictured above, Cliffs L-5, with big views over Table Rock Lake, a home near Silver Dollar City with its own hot tub, and a cabin with a game room for the family that would rather play pool than go out.
Where to stay for New Year's Eve in Branson
The week between Christmas and New Year's is one of the busiest of the winter, so book as early as you can. Match where you stay to your plans:

Downtown and Branson Landing parties: Roark Creek 106 or Roark Creek 108, both walkable to downtown, so nobody has to drive after midnight.
Silver Dollar City and Chateau on the Lake: Cliffs L-2, four minutes from Silver Dollar City, or Cliffs L-1-2, which sleeps 10.
Shows on the Strip: a 3-bedroom Tall Timbers cabin keeps you a short drive from the 76 theaters.
The whole family under one roof: the home that sleeps 30 or the home that sleeps 22.
If it's just two of you for one night, a hotel can be the simpler choice. A rental pays off when you have a group, stay a few nights, or want a kitchen and a living room to celebrate in. Our vacation rentals vs hotels guide walks through the math.
